I'm going to consider him the first, purely, philosophical comedian. His entire act is an analysis of his life, it's in 6 parts and it grows on you more by the minute. 

He's like that motivational speaker who guest spoke at your elementary school, except he's not slightly overweight, bald, or has the personality that seems contradictory to the subject matter. So, I guess not so much.
